ROLE DETAILS

We are auditioning for all of the roles below:

.
Laurey Williams
She lives with her Aunt Eller on a ranch and is in love with Curly, though she may not admit it. Laurey is not like other girls in the state. She is not delicate, and is as stubborn as Curly. She's not afraid to defend herself if threatened.
Role: Lead / Sex: F / Age: 20+ / Singing: Solo - Soprano / Dance: Medium
.

.
.M
Jud Fry
Jud takes care of the ranch Laurey and Aunt Eller live on. Jud does not fit in with the society he lives in. He is too often portrayed as a stereotypical villain, but in reality he is more of an outsider who is misunderstood with a dark, almost nihilistic view of life and most people. He has feelings for Laurey, which is his only real hint of humanity. He works hard to take care of Laurey and Aunt Eller on the ranch because of those feelings.
Role: Lead / Sex: M / Age: 20+ / Singing: Solo - Baritone / Dance: Medium
.
.
Ado Annie Carnes
A sweet and innocent girl, she "Can't Say No" to anyone. She wants everyone to be happy. Her heart is always in the right place, but she isn't always the best judge of character. A comic, romantic lead, she is wooed by Ali Hakim, but deep down she feels a connection to Will Parker.
Role: Lead / Sex: F / Age: 20s / Singing: Solo - Soprano / Dance: Light

.
.
Will Parker
A cowboy who is skilled enough to win in rodeos. Being able to do rope tricks is a plus. Will is a dancing role (tap dancer preferred). He is interested in Ado Annie. Will isn't exactly book smart but he knows just how to push Ado Annie's buttons.
Role: Lead / Sex: M / Age: 20+ / Singing: Solo - Tenor / Dance: Heavy

.
.
Aunt Eller
She acts as the town's aunt. She's a fun-loving caretaker with a feisty streak. She watches over the town and a ranch with her niece Laurey and a hired hand, Jud. She sees the good in everyone.
Role: Supporting / Sex: F / Age: 30+ / Singing: Featured - Alto / Dance: Medium

.
.
Ali Hakim
A traveling peddler who says he's from Persia (present day Iran), though we aren't sure how much of what he says is true. He, like Jud, is an outsider to this community but not feared by most like Jud. He likes pretty things and women. He pursues Ado Annie and Gurtie Cummings.
Role: Supporting / Sex: M / Age: 20+ / Singing: Some Solo / Dance: Light

.
.
Andrew Carnes
He is very protective of his daughter, Ado Annie. He doesn't want Will Parker to marry her because he believes the cowboy's life is too risky and unreliable. To prove this isn't true, he asks Will to maintain $50 in order to have his daughter's hand in marriage. He is a rancher, and isn't very kind towards cowboys in general.
Role: Supporting / Sex: M / Age: 30+ / Singing: Some Solo / Dance: Light
.
.
Gertie Cummings
From the next town over, she has eyes on Curly and isn't waiting around for Laurey to say no to him. She has a "unique" laugh.
Role: Supporting / Sex: F / Age: 20+ / Singing: Ensemble / Dance: Light

.
.
